Carbon Fibre Seat Install Guide
Here you find all you need to fit your new carbon fibre seats.Tools:- 13mm spanner or socket & rachet8.5mm drill bit, pilot bit and electric drill6mm allen key4No. 8mm nuts and 8No. 8mm washerWD40 if necessaryLocate and undo the 4No. nuts securing the seat under the shell of the car. These are easy to find and reach without the need to lift the car up.
One of these nuts hold an earthing strap, so make a note and remember to reconnect it!
Once you have done this, carefully remove seat from car. You have to lift seat so bolts clear holes in floor, then move whole seat forward slightly. You can then tilt whole seat back slightly so the headrest can clear the door opening.
Now you have the seat out, you can either work indoors or next to car. Turn existing seat over and locate the allen bolts holding the seat runner to the seat. Two bolts you can get to straight away. Use a 6mm allen key and remove these bolts. these may be very stiff as they have been like this since leaving the factory and could be corroded! When you have removed the front two bolts, you have to lift up the slider bar to allow the track to slide forward to access the rear bolts.
Now you have undone the last bolt, you will need to drill two new holes for the new seat frame. The dimension is 306 from centre of rear hole on existing slider but double check this against the new seat frame just incase! Mark with a punch or use masking tape and use a pencil. First drill a pilot hole followed by an 8,5mm drill.Offer the slider to the new carbon fibre seat frame. Use one of the existing allen bolts along with new washers and a new nut. Continue with remaining 3 bolts and only tighen hand tight to allow for adjustment.
Now, here's a tip to save valuable time when reinstalling. The slider is quite flexible when you take it off your existing seats because it's only held together by the crossbar and loses it's positions for mounting bolts into floor. The rear is actually spaced slightly wider than than the front and if you tighten the bolts to slider first then you'll be spending a long time trying to find the holes in the floor! The front bolts for the slider should be spaced at 442mm centres and the rears 450mm centres. adjust the seat frame centrally to the slider to these dimensions then nip up the bolts/nuts. Now you are ready to fit new seats to car.
Refit in reverse order remembering to tilt seat back to allow headrest to clear door opneing and also fit under steering wheel. It's a bit tight as you don't want to rip/scratch your interior with the bolts sticking out of the slider base! You may need to lift up the slider bar to slide seat forward to locate slider bolts into floor of car. Remember to make sure the large thick washer are installed as the bolt passes through the floor. Use your hands to feel that the washer is on each bolt. Once you have done this then refit nuts underneather remembering to refit the earthing strap to the inner bolt.
You may want to undo seat belt from base by removing bolt hidden by carpet and feeding the seat belt through side hole on seat. This is upto you and how the seat belt rests on your waste.
All done! now you are ready to test them out. Another tip to help preserve your bucket seat sides when getting in. Use two feet first to get in and don't slide your backside on the seat side bolster. clear the side first the lower your body vertically down into the seat. I did this on a GT3 seat I had years ago and had seat for two years. seat came out of the car like showroom condition with no wear at all!
These seats are availible in others colours to special order. Also these seats are availible in alcantara in black. If you use this install guide and have any comments to make then feel free to email me at
